News - Advanced Modeling Workshop at EUROXXII
EUROXXII Pre-conference Workshop: Advanced Modeling with Xpress-MP

This half-day workshop gives an introduction to new functionality in
Xpress-Mosel. It is particularly aimed at academics and practitioners in OR who have some
experience with modeling and would like to learn more about how to
analyze and improve their models, or see which possibilities there are
to implement problem-specific solution algorithms, in particular using
recent features of the modeling environment Mosel.

| 1:30-1:50pm | Data handling:
* new data structures and user types
* generalized file handling: introducing the Excel I/O driver |
| 1:50-2:20pm | Model analysis:
* using the profiler to detect inefficiencies in model formulations
* some recommendations for efficient modeling with Mosel |
| 2:20-3:00pm | Implementing solution algorithms:
* examples of parallelism on the modeling level (decomposition approaches, branch-and-price) |
| 3:00-3:15pm | Coffee break |
| 3:15-4:00pm | New features of Xpress-Optimizer |
| 4:00-4:30pm | Constraint Programming in Mosel with Xpress-Kalis |
| 4:30-5:00pm | Deployment:
* writing libraries for Mosel in Mosel: packages
* developing graphical applications |
The workshop is open to all participants of the EUROXXII conference without any extra registration.
